European History summary
For readers, unfamiliar with the european history:
The Germans were invited to settle in Bohemia and Moravia during the medieval centuries. Some centuries later Bohemia and Moravia became a part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. All people, Germans and Czechs, were citizens of that empire. The year 1848 saw some revolutions in europe including a rising nationalism. In 1871 the German Empire was created under prussian leadership. The Germans living in Austria and Bohemia were not included and left with other nations in the multinational Austro-Hungarian Empire.
After the lost World War I (WW I), these empire broke up. Good history books will offer you more details about the situation following. My intention is to write about the tiny village Hackelhöf only.
